Three acts

How to stitch screenshots together

QuoteStitch is a free screenshot stitcher that joins several screenshots into one tall image. Instead of asking you to mark the part to keep, it compares the frames, finds the strip that differs, and keeps only that strip. The whole tool runs in your browser.

  1. 01

    Add your screenshots

Drag them in, browse, or paste from the clipboard. If you took them in order, the filenames sort naturally — one click puts them back in sequence.

  2. 02

Let Auto mode find the band

Auto mode compares your screenshots and finds the strip that actually differs between them. For movie subtitles that is the subtitle line; for a chat it is the newest bubble; for a web page it is the new section. The first frame stays whole, the rest keep just that strip.

  3. 03

    Download the long image

Check the live preview, nudge the band if you want a tighter crop, then export as PNG at 1x or 2x. No watermark, no upload, no account.

A finished long image: the first frame is shown in full, and the four frames after it keep only the subtitle strip.
Example output — the first frame stays whole. Every frame after it keeps only the strip that changes.

Why this one

Built on a different idea

Zero manual cropping

Most screenshot stitchers make you drag handles to select the part to keep, for every single image. Here you drop files and the band is found for you.

Private by design

There is no backend. Your screenshots are read with the browser's own image APIs and composited on a local canvas — they never travel anywhere.

Built for movie quotes

Subtitle strips, chat threads, long articles — the same idea: keep the full first frame, then only the part that changes. The classic stacked-quote look, without the busywork.

What people stitch

Four things people stitch most

Film and TV dialogue

Capture a scene line by line and stack the subtitles into one image. This is the classic movie quote screenshot, and it is what Auto mode was built for.

Chat threads

Scroll a conversation, screenshot each screen, and stitch them into one continuous log. The header and input bar repeat, so they fall into the detected band and get dropped.

Tutorials and course notes

Turn a run of screenshots from a video lesson or a slide deck into one scrollable page of notes, without retyping any of it.

Long articles and web pages

Stitch a page you captured in sections into one image. The newly revealed section is the part that changes, so that is the part that is kept.

The finished long image is a plain PNG, so it drops straight into wherever you post. That includes X, Reddit, Instagram, Threads and Facebook, and Weibo, Xiaohongshu and Douban. There is no watermark, so nothing has to be cropped out again before you share it.

For film dialogue

A subtitle stitcher that crops itself

Most subtitle stitchers and movie quote stitchers ask you to mark the caption band by hand — on every single frame. QuoteStitch compares the frames first, finds the strip that differs, and keeps only that strip. You get the classic stacked movie-quote image without touching a handle.

Typical manual stitcher QuoteStitch
Finding the bandYou drag a handle over the caption band — and repeat it for every frame. Finding the bandThe strip that changes is found for you, and one correction applies to every frame.

On a phoneOften unusable — one of them says so on its own page. On a phoneThe same page works on iPhone, iPad and Android.

Video in

Stitch subtitles straight from a video file

Every other browser-based screenshot stitcher starts from images. QuoteStitch also takes the video itself. Drop in an MP4, MOV or WEBM and it finds the subtitle band, then keeps one frame for each line of dialogue. That removes the slowest part of the job — pausing the player and screenshotting by hand.

It does this without reading the text. It looks for the rows that carry dense horizontal edges, because burned-in subtitles are sharp, near-vertical strokes. Camera motion does not confuse it. Two different lines share a brightness envelope but not a glyph pattern, so it compares the shape of the strokes to find where one line becomes the next.

Any device

Stitch screenshots on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac

QuoteStitch runs in the browser, so the same page works everywhere. There is nothing to install and no app-store round trip.

iPhone and iPad

Open the page in Safari, tap the upload area, and pick your screenshots from Photos. The finished long image downloads straight to your device.

Android

Chrome for Android runs the same page. Screenshots you just took are one tap away in the picker, and the finished long image saves to your device.

Windows and Mac

Drag a batch of screenshots onto the drop area, or press Ctrl + V / ⌘ + V to paste. Filenames sort naturally, so shots taken in order stay in order.

Questions

Frequently asked

How can I combine multiple screenshots into one single image?

Drop them into the box at the top of the page. They are stacked top to bottom into one long image. In Auto mode the changing band is kept for every screenshot after the first, so the result is compact rather than a wall of near-identical frames.

Can I stitch multiple screenshots together for free?

Yes. It is free, needs no account, and adds no watermark. Everything runs locally in your browser.

How do I stitch screenshots together on iPhone or Android?

Open this page in your mobile browser, tap the upload area, and choose your screenshots. The layout adapts to small screens and you can save the result straight to your camera roll.

Do my screenshots get uploaded to a server?

No. All cropping, detection and stitching happen in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device.

How many screenshots can I stitch at once?

There is no fixed limit — practical limits come from your device's memory. A few dozen full-resolution screenshots work fine on most devices. Export at 1x for very long results.

Can I use this for movie quote screenshots?

Yes, that is what Auto mode is built for. Upload several frames from the same scene and it keeps the full first frame plus only the subtitle strip of each frame after it.

What is a subtitle stitcher?

A subtitle stitcher joins several screenshots of the same film or video into one tall image. The first frame stays whole for context, and every frame after it keeps only the subtitle strip, so the finished image reads like a strip of dialogue instead of a wall of near-identical pictures.

Is there a subtitle stitcher that does not need manual cropping?

Yes. QuoteStitch is built around that idea. Instead of asking you to drag a handle over the caption band on every frame, it compares the frames, finds the strip that differs, and keeps only that strip. You can still nudge the band afterwards if you want a tighter crop.

Can I stitch screenshots straight from a video?

Yes. Drop an MP4, MOV or WEBM file onto the page and QuoteStitch samples frames from it, so you do not have to screenshot the player by hand. This is the part most other screenshot stitchers do not offer.

How do I stitch multiple screenshots together on Windows or Mac?

Open this page in any desktop browser and drag your screenshots onto the drop area, or press Ctrl + V on Windows and ⌘ + V on Mac to paste from the clipboard. Screenshots taken in order sort by filename, so one click puts them back in sequence.

Does QuoteStitch work with a separate .srt subtitle file?

No. QuoteStitch works on pictures, not on subtitle files. It stitches screenshots, and it reads burned-in subtitles out of a video. If you need to merge, convert or resync an SRT or VTT file, you want a subtitle file tool instead.

Can I stitch chat screenshots into one long image?

Yes. Screenshot each screen of the conversation and drop them in. The header, the input bar and the status bar repeat on every shot, so they land in the detected band. What is left after the first frame is the part of the conversation that actually moved.

What is QuoteStitch not for?

It is not a photo collage or grid maker, it is not a meme generator, and it does not edit subtitle files. It does one thing: turn a run of screenshots, or a video clip, into a single long image with the repeated part removed.
