Privacy Policy

The short version

• Your images and videos are read and composited entirely inside your browser. Nothing is transmitted.
• There is no account, no sign-up, and no email address collected.
• The site sets no cookies of its own.
• The only thing stored on your device is one value recording whether you allowed analytics.
• Analytics is optional, is off until you accept, and can be withdrawn at any time.

1. Your images and videos

QuoteStitch is a static page. All decoding, band detection, stitching and export happen in your browser using the Canvas, File and Media APIs. Your files are read from your device, held in memory, and written back out as a download. At no point is one sent anywhere.

You do not have to take our word for it. The entire tool is plain JavaScript with no build step, and you can read every line of it:

• app.js — screenshot loading, band detection, stitching, export
• video.js — video frame sampling and subtitle band detection
• video-ui.js — the video review interface

Search those files for fetch, XMLHttpRequest or sendBeacon. You will not find one. There is no code path that could send an image anywhere, because no such call exists in the source.

2. What is stored on your device

One thing: a localStorage entry named qs-consent, holding either granted or denied. It records your analytics choice so the banner does not reappear on every page. It contains no identifier and is never transmitted.

Clearing your browser's site data removes it, and the banner will ask again on your next visit.

The site sets no cookies of its own. Any cookies you see come from Google Analytics, and only if you accepted it — see section 4.

3. What the hosting provider sees

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like every web host, Cloudflare processes the request needed to deliver a page, which necessarily includes your IP address, your browser's user agent, the page you asked for and the time you asked for it. Cloudflare also maintains security and network telemetry across its platform.

This happens on any website you visit, and it is not something QuoteStitch adds. We do not receive or use those logs to identify anyone. Cloudflare's handling is described in the Cloudflare privacy policy.

4. Analytics, and your choice

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count page views. It is switched off by default: the analytics script is not loaded at all until you press "Allow analytics". If you decline, no request is ever made to Google from your visit.

If you accept, Google Analytics will process:

• the pages you view, and when;
• an approximate location derived from your IP address;
• your browser, operating system and device type;
• how you arrived — for example, a search result or a referring link.

Google states that IP addresses are not logged or stored in Analytics. The data is used in aggregate, to see which pages are read and which are not. It is not used to build a profile of you, and it is not combined with anything else.

Accepting sets cookies in Google's _ga family, which is what lets Analytics tell one visit from another. Their lifetime and how long the data is kept are governed by the retention settings on our Analytics property; Google documents both in its cookie notice and privacy policy.

Withdrawing your choice

Clear this site's data in your browser settings. The qs-consent entry disappears, the banner returns, and you can decline. Any cookies Google already set can be removed in the same place. Analytics also honours the browser-level opt-out and Do Not Track signals supported by Google's own tooling.

5. What this site does not do

• It does not upload, copy or back up your images or videos.
• It does not require or store an account, an email address or a password.
• It does not sell, rent or share personal data with anyone.
• It does not serve advertising today. If advertising is introduced, this policy will be updated to name the network and describe its cookies before any ad is shown.
• It does not track you across other websites.
• It does not load third-party fonts, scripts or assets. The typefaces are served from this domain.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because the tool itself collects nothing about you, most requests are satisfied simply by withdrawing analytics consent as described above.

7. Children

QuoteStitch is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes — a new third party, or advertising — will also be stated on the about page.
